The Body Weight Index (BMI) is used to determine if you’re body weight is in proportion to your height.
The BMI calculation involves your body weight divided by your height, so in order to calculate your BMI you will need to know your weight in Ibs (pounds) and your height in feet and inches.
What Do The Scores Mean
A higher BMI score generally means the more overweight you are. This can also mean you’re at a higher risk group of experiencing the medical problems associated with being overweight.
From the calculator below you will see three sliding scales for your height, weight and BMI score.
A BMI score that falls below 19 is considered underweight. A BMI score between 19 and 24.9 is considered normal weight, between 25 and 29.9 is overweight, between 30 and 34.9 is obese and a BMI score that is 40 and above is considered morbidly obese.
